Mariah was getting close to her 50,000 pts in flyball, so we decided to head out to Grand Junction for the Westside Woofers Labor Day flyball tournament. They had a superhero theme, so our team was RUFF Autobots. As always, the tournament site is great and the Westside Woofers members are great! It was a little warm that weekend, but we still had a good time racing. On Saturday we ran well and ended up in 1st place! On Sunday, we had a few more handler mistakes and finished in 2nd. I guess we just decided to be nice and let the TX team take 1st since they came all the way up. ;)
Well - the big highlight of the weekend was Mariah earning her FGDCH-50K! She turned 10 in July and has been a primary height dog most of her career. She loves flyball and is always barking and ready to go on the start line! When we first started, I didn't think we'd even get close to ONYX (20,000 pts) so to hit 50,000 is amazing! We've run with some great dogs over the years and we've been lucky to run both Mariah and Brisco on the same team.
So Congratulations Mariah on becoming the 2nd dog in RUFF to earn FGDCH-50K (Brisco was #1) and for being the second height dog in the region to hit that milestone! There are only 6 mini aussies in all of NAFA who have their 50K and she's now in that elite league.
