We had a fun weekend of USDAA agility up in Laramie, WY. This was the first year we attended the WY trial and it was nice to run in a one-ring trial. I don't usually have a lot of conflicts, but it was nice to be able to help at the scoretable and refresh my skills before regionals.
We had some great runs and some not-so-great runs over the weekend. The worst was when Brisco got his back legs hung up in the tire. He hasn't had a tire issue for awhile and it's always scary to see a dog get hung up. Luckily he didn't flip or crash and he seems to be just fine. It left me a bit frazzled so I didn't handle the rest of the run as well. Both dogs were also on track for great snooker runs on Sunday, but I messed them both up in the weave poles in the close... bad handler!
The good parts of the weekend include:
- Mariah Q'd in both PIII Standard legs with 1st places. She only needed one more for her PD3 title. She's only run in Performance for 4 trials and she has her PD3!
- Brisco ran with Rita for Masters Pairs and they Q'd giving Brisco that last Q for his RM title!
- Both Mariah and Brisco Q'd in Steeplechase and Grand Prix! Mariah had a nice Steeplechase round 2 run and finished 2nd. The Grand Prix Q was Brisco's first one, so that was exciting.
Overall a fun trial. We hadn't been to a USDAA trial since May, so it was fun to play again! Next up will be the USDAA Regionals at Adams County.
