Crazy Brisco!
We spent last weekend playing flyball up at the Ranch in Loveland. At first we thought we were going to get creamed by the competition. There were 7 teams in Regular division 1 and we were seeded 5th going into the weekend. We raced clean and consistent and even raced faster than we have in the past few months! Our best time of the weekend was a 19.759. Not too bad for a 6+ sec height dog. :)
We finished in 2nd place on Saturday and 3rd place on Sunday (tied for 2nd in pts, but DEO had a faster time). Our dogs picked up over 1000 pts and Lexi got a new best time of 4.288 passing! We have so much fun racing our 4 dogs together!
Another fun part of the weekend was taking the CGC test with Brisco between races! Brisco did great and passed with no problems. He is now an official Canine Good Citizen. Mariah earned hers years ago so we didn't test her again.
The scary part of the weekend was when Mariah decided to chew open a full bottle of Rimadyl while we were eating dinner at a restaurant in Windsor. She ate about sixteen 75mg pills which is 64 times her normal dosage! We had to go to Walgreens and buy a bottle of hydrogen peroxide and get it down her throat until she puked up the Rimadyl. Luckily the restaurant we ate at was fast, so the pills weren't sitting in her stomach too long. We talked with our friends Lynette and Stuart who are vets and they talked us through everything. We even met up with Lynette a little bit later for some post-OD meds to help with her stomach. Needless to say, it was a scary night for us! Luckily Mariah seemed to be feeling fine the rest of the night, so we tried flyball on Sunday. She ran great! Her weekend average was slightly faster than it had been the past 2 mos! We're just thankful that she's ok. :)
